Repair to a leaking extension as a result of poor workmanship, January 2010

This client got in touch with us to solve their leaking roof on an extension which had been put in five years ago. The inspection showed that the roof had constructed incorrectly with the main central lead gutter being formed in one long length. This was too long under the Lead Sheet Associations guide lines and had resulted in lead failure. The photographs show that the roof had to be stripped off and the gutter retimbered into three timber bays which were covered in Code 6 lead sheet over wood rolls. The roof was then related using Marley Thrutone slates.
